The students visit Willowgrove Farm twice during the school year.

In September, the Apple Picking program teaches students about the many varieties of apples, the role of the honey bee in the orchard, issues related to picking, pruning and caring for the orchard, as well as the many products that are made using apples. The morning concluded with a fun wagon ride and students picking their own apple to take home.

In May, students will again visit the farm for the Let’s Talk Animals program. They will explore the different characteristics and roles of each farm animal, and learn of their importance to the farmer. Students will end the morning with a fun wagon ride and roll around the hayloft playground!
